Horse name: Merlin's Magic Touch
Barn name: Merlin
Age: 13
Breed: Hanoverian
Breed registry: Papers lost (AHS)
Personality: Merlin is a friendly gelding. He loves treats and people and especially loves being groomed or talked to. He's very willing and is a great horse for beginner or intermediate riders. He takes a little more leg than most horses to get going, and has a slower canter than most jumping horses but he can still clear a 3'0 foot fence just fine. Merlin can be tricky to catch in the pasture, even with treats and it's very advisable to never go out and try to catch him without treats. It's also advisable to leave a halter on him while in the pasture to make him easier to catch.
History:Merlin was born at a barn in Kentucky. He was a border's horse and once he grew out of the cute foal stage, he became nasty biting and climbing on top of people that was allowed when he was a foal. The owner immediately sold him, giving him to a horse trainer for free after he bit the barn owner trying to play. The trainer immediately started training Merlin's bad habits out of him and soon he stopped doing them. He was broken at the age of five, and started showing at nine. The trainer thought he'd make it to FEI levels but he just didn't have the potential to make a FEI dressage horse nor the gaits that were looked for in jumping horses. The trainer put Merlin up for sale at thirteen where he was seen by Emily Forge who bought him as a horse for ESRA. Merlin was shipped down the Virginia. Merlin was then assigned to Sabrina Nueur, the German teacher after the woman said she'd like to start riding.
